Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra: Northern Wind
Join us for a concert by the city's very own orchestra!
Vassily Sinaisky, conductor
Andreas Brantelid, cello
Antonín Dvořák: Carnival Overture, Op. 92
Pyotr Tchaikovsky: Variations on a Rococo Theme
Carl Nielsen: Symphony No. 4, "The Inextinguishable"
Conductor Thomas Dausgaard has unfortunately had to cancel his visit to Tampere. Instead, the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra will play under the baton of conductor Vassily Sinaisky in this concert. Further, the opening piece of the concert on January 31, 2025 will also change. Instead of Johan Svendsen’s Symphony No. 2, it will open with Antonín Dvořák’s Carnival Overture. Otherwise, the programme for the concert called “Northern Wind” remains unchanged. Swedish-Danish cellist Andreas Brantelid will perform Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations.
