An artist has done something right when the new generation mocks them. The music of French composer Camille Saint-Saëns was considered too beautiful and elegant by modernists, with the magical Fantaisie being a prime example. Likewise, Johannes Brahms, often criticized for his conservatism, composed one of the highest monuments of romantic string music with his String Sextet. A new flute piece by Ilari Laakso, a composer known for bridging stylistic eras, will have its world premiere. The concert is hosted by composer Minna Leinonen.
