Johannes Põlda
Johannes Põlda started his violin studies in Saaremaa at Kuressaare Music School. In 2005, his studies continued in Tallinn Music High School. In 2012, Johannes started his studies at Sibelius Academy in Helsinki with prof. Mari Tampere-Bezrodny and in 201 9, Johannes received his Master’s degree from Sibelius Academy. Johannes has also studied as an exchange student for a year at the Eastman School of Music under the guidance of prof. Oleh Krysa. In 2018, Johannes got a third place in national televised music competition “Classical Stars”.
Johannes has also played in front of various orchestras (Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Estonian Sinfonietta, Kuopio Symphony Orchestra etc.) and also participated in various masterclasses (Pavel Berman, Yuri Zhislin, Mikhail Kopelman etc.).
Johannes has worked as a substitute second concertmaster in Lapland Chamber Orchestra, as a first violin principal in Kuopio Symphony Orchestra and also as a guest concertmaster with the Estonian Sinfonietta. Currently, Johannes Põlda works in Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra as a first concertmaster.
