Harri Miettunen

Harri Miettunen has been the principal tuba of the Tampere Philharmonic since 1989. He graduated from the Helsinki Military Music School and the Rotterdam Conservatory, with Roger Bobo as his teacher. In addition to Finland, he has performed as a soloist in the Netherlands, Italy, Russia and the United States. Miettunen was named Copper Player of the Year in 1993 and Tampere Philharmonic Musician of the year in 1996. He has presented works by Lasse Eerola, Jukka Linkola and Leonid Bashmakov, among others, at Vaskiewiki in Liexa and at international tube conferences.
